Quicklet x Simon Community NI Christmas Appeal

At Christmas, some people look forward to warmth, family and familiar traditions. But for many across Northern Ireland, the festive season can be one of the hardest times of the year. That’s why this Christmas, Quicklet has partnered with Simon Community NI, an organisation doing extraordinary work to support people experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing their home.

Simon Community NI provides emergency accommodation, outreach support, specialist services, advice, and a safe place for people who often have nowhere else to turn. Their team work on the front line every single day of the year — including Christmas Day — ensuring people have access to shelter, safety, compassion and dignity.

This year, we want to do our part.

🎄 Our Goal: Buy 300 Christmas Dinners

A £5 donation is enough to provide a warm Christmas dinner to someone who would otherwise go without. It’s a small gesture, but one that makes a huge difference — a reminder that people care, that they’re not alone, and that Christmas can still mean something hopeful.

Quicklet’s team kicked off our campaign by visiting Simon Community NI’s front-line services. Seeing their work up close was both humbling and motivating. The dedication of the staff, the respect shown to service users, and the sheer scale of support they provide reaffirmed that this partnership is not just fitting — it’s important.

🎅 Community Events to Support the Cause

To help raise as much as possible, we’re running a series of festive activities throughout December, including:

    • Christmas Jumper Day
    • A Mulled Wine & Mince Pie Gathering on Friday 19th December (3–5pm)
Open to landlords, contractors and partners

These events are designed to bring people together, shine a light on Simon Community NI’s essential work, and raise funds that directly support people who need it.

Simon Community NI Tenancy Deposit Service

Alongside their emergency accommodation and support services, Simon Community NI also operates a Tenancy Deposit Service, which helps people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness access the private rental sector.

The service supports individuals aged 18+ who have low prospects of social housing by providing a grant to cover part of the deposit needed to secure a home. This makes private renting possible for people who would otherwise be unable to afford the upfront cost.

How it works

Once a referral is submitted, Simon Community NI’s Housing Solutions Team will:

  • Assess the person’s circumstances and support needs
  • Calculate affordability
  • Advise on the next steps to access the deposit grant
  • Provide guidance if a grant cannot be awarded, and signpost to other support services

The team can also assist with:

  • Advice on searching for suitable properties
  • Liaising with landlords or letting agents
  • Support with Housing Cost applications
  • Applying for Discretionary Support
  • Signposting to other relevant services

One service user shared:

“I had been living in hostels and sleeping rough for a number of years and the tenancy deposit scheme has allowed me to gain a sense of safety and security through renting my own home. The whole process was simple and straightforward and thanks to all involved for your support.”

❤️ A Natural Partnership

As a property management company, we see daily how important safe, secure homes are. Partnering with an organisation dedicated to helping people who don’t have that security is a natural and meaningful alignment. We believe that everyone deserves stability, warmth and dignity — not just at Christmas, but all year round.

🙏 How You Can Help

If you can donate £5 — or even share our campaign — you’re helping provide someone with a hot meal and a sense of community at Christmas.
